DESCRIPTION:With many in our state being hard hit by addiction and supporting recovery being a key part of the solution\, the Northeastern Workforce Development Board in collaboration with the Bangor Area Recovery Network (BARN) is presenting a workshop called Recovery Works for ME\, an opportunity for employers and employees to learn more about the issue\, the solution of recovery\, and how employers can be a part of the remedy and also utilize recovery’s many benefits for their own workplace. The workshop is for essentially all types of employers and employees\, and 100% of participants in the first course said they would recommend it to their peers. \n  \nThe workshop will be held February 26\, 2021 from 8AM – 10AM via Zoom. SUMMARY:Recovery Coach Basics Training
DESCRIPTION:As we know all too well\, Maine has been significantly impacted by addiction. Fortunately\, however\, many who’ve been affected are now on a path to recovery\, and that likely includes some of our neighbors\, family members\, and colleagues. With that in mind\, the Northeastern Workforce Development Board strongly believes that all organizations should understand recovery and how to support it. To that end\, the board has partnered with Healthy Acadia to provide Recovery Coach Basics Training and you’re invited to attend.  \nParticipants of the course will learn to: \n\nDefine and increase fluency in the language of recovery\nBuild capacity to understand\, support\, and advocate for recovery\nLearn about specific skill sets key to supporting recovery\nCreate a learning community to advance the recognition\, acceptance and support recovery\n\nEach county in the NWDB region will ultimately have four training dates\, but the first round of training is specifically for the board’s partners as well as their partners. \nThe partner-specific course for Piscataquis County will be held September 30\, 9 AM-2 PM. \nThe partner-specific course for Washington County will be held October 15\, 9 AM-2 PM. \nThe partner-specific course for Hancock County will be held November 18\, 9 AM-2 PM. \nThe partner-specific course for Aroostook and Penobscot Counties will be administered by the Bangor Area Recovery Network (BARN) and dates will be announced shortly.  \nThis and all other training will be conducted online unless otherwise specified. \nClick here to register. Spaces are limited and we need a minimum number of attendees\, so please register as soon as possible.
